27 posts · Joined 2009. #1 · Apr 5, 2009. I thought I would share my experience of how quickly these turbos fail. I own a 2002 Laguna 2 1.9 DCI 120, its done 75k miles. About a fortnight ago it developed a louder than normal whistle on boost considering the fragile nature of these turbos I wanted to check it out sooner rather than later.

There is an obvious problem related to turbo failure on the Renault 1.9dci engines. The root of this problem is related to an EGR design flaw where the valve becomes intermittent. The system itself works fine if the engine is serviced using the recommended Renault schedule and correct engine oil. Unfortunately to many owners fall victim to this

2001 Renault Laguna II 1.9dCi turbo upgrade/intercooler. Tags 19dci laguna renault turbo upgrade or intercooler. I have a 2005 Grand Scenic 1.9 dCi which i have now succesfully had remapped to 172BHP, this has been tested and verified using rolling road in Birmingham(long day). You need to shop around but this power increase cost me ÂŁ275
